Darien Fernandez, a 26-year-old mixed-race artist from NYC, found his creative roots in cartoons and street art. High School of Art and Design ignited his passion for oil painting. At SUNY Cortland, he embraced diverse mediums, yearning to incorporate spray paint. A pivotal encounter with Irish street artist "KNOWN" led him to spray paint stencils, merging street art with canvas. Darien's paintings blend spray paint's energy with oil paint's beauty, drawing from sports, music, and pop culture. He pays homage to NYC, family, and friendship, aiming to bridge cultures through his art. His evolving journey explores self-expression and urban essence, merging reality and imagination.
